The Motor Development Foundation
The Motor Development Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing access, opportunity, and support for individuals with motor and communication challenges.
Our foundation exists to fund and expand the reach of The Motor Development Co. programs, delivered through Modev8, ensuring that individuals and families can access the coaching, tools, and education necessary to unlock communication and build purposeful motor performance.
We are committed to supporting individuals who are nonspeaking, minimally speaking, or unreliably speaking by providing access to alternative methods of communication—such as spelling on letterboards and keyboards. Through this work, we aim to create pathways for meaningful expression, social inclusion, and access to a Free and Appropriate Education.
At the core of our mission is the belief that communication barriers are often motor-based—not cognitive. When individuals are given the right support to organize and sequence their motor systems, their ability to express thoughts, learn, and engage with the world becomes possible.
We are equally committed to shifting perspectives—breaking the stigma that nonspeaking individuals lack intelligence and instead advocating for recognition, dignity, and opportunity for all.
Through funding, community support, and strategic program development, the Motor Development Foundation helps remove financial and systemic barriers that prevent individuals from receiving the services they need.
This work is bigger than any one program—it is a movement.

Your support makes it possible for nonspeaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking individuals to access life-changing communication methods through modalities like fluent communication on letterboards along with; Tuned motor Development for full physiological access, while also creating opportunities for social, emotional, and academic growth.
